Vinyl DJ-unit
Commissioned for private client
Veneered and solid oak · 2022 · Music
Designed to sit quietly within a living space rather than read as technical equipment, the unit conceals turntables, mixer, cabling and power management behind a restrained oak exterior.
During use, the lid folds up to become a display for record sleeves, transforming the piece from storage into a functioning listening and DJ station.
All cabling and electronics are routed internally, with only a single power cable exiting the cabinet.
A concealed side compartment behind the 7” record section provides access to power distribution, cable management and servicing.
The interior was designed to feel integrated rather than inserted — with the turntables, mixer and record display becoming part of a single continuous composition when opened.
The project balanced furniture-making and technical integration throughout — from ventilation and access to the precise positioning of equipment within the veneered oak structure.
